Learning, growing and making an impact

For Florence, one of the things that’s kept her engaged throughout her career at Entain is the opportunity to keep learning.

As Head of Trading (Racing & Sport), Products and QA, no two days are ever quite the same. Working in a constantly evolving industry means adapting to change, solving new challenges and looking for new ways to improve the experience for customers. It’s the variety, responsibility and opportunity to grow that have kept Florence motivated throughout her career.

Tell us about your role at Entain

I work as Head of Trading (Racing & Sport), Products and QA.

What I enjoy most is the variety. The market is constantly changing, which means there’s always something new to learn and new challenges to tackle. It keeps the role interesting and gives me opportunities to develop both personally and professionally.

What has helped you develop throughout your career?

I’ve been fortunate to have managers who have encouraged my development and supported me in taking on new opportunities.

One experience that stands out was completing project management training. It gave me a broader skill set and helped me understand how to take an idea from the early stages right through to delivery. Seeing a project come to life and knowing you’ve played a part in it is incredibly rewarding.

What has your career journey looked like?

I joined Ladbrokes Belgium, which is now part of Entain, with a strong ambition to learn and build my career.

As my responsibilities grew, I realised how important it was to find the right balance between work and life outside of it. Over time, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about progression. It’s also about making space for the things that matter to you personally and finding a balance that works.

How has flexible working supported you?

Flexible ways of working have helped me balance both my career and personal interests.

Having that flexibility has allowed me to stay fully committed to my role while also making time for other things that are important to me. It’s helped me create a better balance and brought a greater sense of fulfilment both in and outside of work.

What stands out about the culture at Entain?

The people.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with colleagues across different teams and markets, and what has always stood out is the level of respect, collaboration and support.

When people are willing to listen to different perspectives, recognise each other’s contributions and help one another improve, it creates an environment where everyone can do their best work. That’s something I’ve always valued.

What mindset has helped you throughout your career?

I try to focus on solutions rather than problems and give my full attention to whatever I’m working on.

Whether it’s a project at work or something in my personal life, I believe in committing to it fully and surrounding myself with positive people who encourage and support each other. That mindset has helped me navigate challenges, build strong relationships and continue growing throughout my career.

What opportunities have you had to make an impact?

One of the things I’ve appreciated most is being trusted to contribute ideas and take ownership of meaningful work.

Working across different projects and initiatives has given me visibility of the wider business and helped me understand how my role contributes to broader goals. Being able to apply what I’ve learned in practice, see the impact of my work and continue developing along the way has been incredibly rewarding.

What advice would you give to someone looking to build their career at Entain?

Stay curious and keep learning.

The opportunities are there if you’re willing to embrace them. Be open to new experiences, challenge yourself and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Some of the most valuable development comes from taking on something new and seeing where it leads
